Language Arts - I can decode words with vowel digraphs and diphthongs.  I can revise my draft (either Fun Story or Mr. President) for clarity, coherence, and complete sentences.

Reading - I can summarize a story that maintains meaning and logical order to show good comprehension.  I will be introduced to PLORE
 P-Predict - Based on everything you know about the title, what could this passage be about?
 L-Locate - The underlined words in the passage.
 O-Organize - Number the paragraphs and the pictures/illustrations/diagrams.
 R-Read, Read, Remember - Read and reread to remember what you read.
 E-Evaluate and Eliminate - Answer the questions.  Prove which answers are wrong and which are right.

Science - I can identify and observe that mass and volume are both properties of matter and volume measures the amount of space that matter takes up.  I can predict and confirm what happens when an object is placed in a canister of water.

Reading - I can identify whether the narrator or speaker of the story is first or third person.

Science - I can draw inferences and evaluate the accuracy of product claims found in advertisements and labels such as for toys and food.

Reading - I accurately complete my unit 1 assessment.

Science - I can accurately complete my unit 1 assessment.

I can also work in the SASIC Garden preparing it so that I may plant seeds.
I can also work successfully on my laptop in class.

Language Arts -  I can alphabetize words to the third letter in order to be able to use a dictionary
              efficiently.  I can plan to write imaginative stories that include characters, setting, and a plot.

Reading -  I can summarize and sequence the plot's main events, determine how the events
              connect to one another, and comprehend how the plot could affect future events.

Science - I can infer the relationship between mass and weight.

Language Arts - I can use guide words to find words in a dictionary and begin to develop drafts. 
                Today we begin to focus on finding guide words in a dictionary.  The question
                you may want to be able to answer is: Why do readers and writers use a dictionary? 
                Look at the video and it will be explained to you in detail. Enjoy!
